For reference:

Under the provisions of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035, safe radioactive waste handling is one of the most important factors in the sustainable development of the nuclear sector in the country.

The improvement of radwaste handling systems is aimed at ensuring their processing to a state that will meet the criteria of acceptability of their disposal in centralized storage facilities. To this end, radioactive waste treatment facilities are being constructed at nuclear power plants to bring the radwaste handling system in line with modern requirements, as well as to ensure the possibility of radwaste transfer to the final disposal.
